Simple first then charts work well with students on the spectrum and other disabilities. Easily show what your student needs to do now (first) and what they will do next (then).

Use these charts to encourage your students to participate in an activity they don't enjoy by presenting the activity paired with something they want to do.

For example the “first” activity could be Math followed by a “then” activity of coloring. This is a proactive strategy that can help you avoid negative behaviors.
