Brain Mates

Brain Mates is an interactive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) tool designed to engage children and teens in identifying, understanding, and gaining control over different aspects of their thinking patterns. The activity helps students build CASEL skills in the areas of self-awareness and self-management.

This fun and engaging activity features eight Brain Mates, each representing a different facet of human cognition, including Power Brain, Worry Brain, Stuck Brain, Trauma Brain, Smart Brain, Mean Brain, Flex Brain, and Angry Brain. With 64 question cards (8 for each brain) and directions for suggested activities, Brain Mates introduces CBT concepts that are great for managing anxiety, building confidence, anger management, reducing negative thinking, and more.

By playing with the Brain Mates, individuals will identify and explore their thought processes in a structured and supportive manner, encouraging greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. Whether used one on one, in groups, or educational environments, Brain Mates offers a dynamic approach to building the cognitive skills necessary for emotional well-being in children, adolescents, and young adults.
