The I Go To School Interactive Reading book was designed by an autism specialist to help meet common IEP goals that focus on building vocabulary, matching, sorting, identifying, labeling, building sentences, answering questions, and learning to read. Each school related concept is described with clear, child friendly language and is accompanied by a colorful illustration. This interactive book will help children prepare for and respond appropriately to typical school experiences like recess, riding the bus, hanging up their backpack and more.
I Go To School features 24 2" x 2" laminated, full color, Velcro backed pictures that will help prepare students for a typical day at school. Following the removable pictures, the book features 12 pages, each with one sentence that include space below for a child to attach the corresponding pictures. The book is designed to be used on multiple levels, with 4 pre-reading skill activities and 3 reading skill activities described in the instructions on the inside cover.
Picture cards include: ride, the bus, go, to school, play, outside, hang up, my backpack, play, with puzzles, like, to sing, read, books, color, crayons, write, pencil, to paint, eat, snack, go and home.
This laminated book is bound with loose-leaf binder rings so that pages can be reordered or removed as desired. Following the instructions page, it features 4 pages of 24 full color 2" x 2" Velcro backed pictures and 12 different school scenario pages.
