Help children build reading fluency while they play! This interactive, fidget-based game gives students meaningful practice with all 220 Dolch sight words, organized by grade level, in a format that keeps hands busy and minds engaged.
How It Works:
Players take turns drawing a sight word card and saying the word aloud. After reading the word, they roll the die and pop down that number of bubbles on their fidget mat. Special cards add excitement to the game. A Unicorn card lets the player roll twice and pop more bubbles. A Gremlin card means the player must roll and unpop that number of bubbles. The first player to pop all their bubbles wins.
An access code is included to download the free learning guide and workbook with worksheets for all 220 words to extend practice beyond the game.
Why It Works:
This game pairs high-frequency word practice with movement and tactile input, helping students strengthen:
- Sight word recognition and recall
- Reading fluency
- Focus and attention
- Confidence with high-frequency words
Because these words make up a large portion of early reading text, repeated exposure in a playful format supports stronger comprehension and fluent reading.
Why Students, Parents, and Teachers Love It:
Students enjoy the friendly competition and the satisfying pop of the fidget mat while they practice important reading skills. Parents and teachers appreciate how easily the game fits into small groups, centers, therapy sessions, and at-home learning while reinforcing words children see every day in their books.
